The Guitar

For thousands of years, stringed instruments have entertained mankind. The direct lineage of incremental improvement to the concept can be traced back to the 3rd millennium B.C., and that journey continued through to this day. Colletti Guitars is committed to creating the highest quality, best-sounding guitars; instruments that inspire creativity and elevate the player to new heights. Our mission is simple – provide instruments with quality craftsmanship and design that matches the talent and drive of the artist. The

primary design philosophy behind Colletti Guitars is in our utilization of new-world technologies,

implemented with old-world traditional craftsmanship, attention to detail,

and artistry. We feel that this breeds an instrument that is gravitational

in it’s familiarity, yet cutting edge in its performance. Above all, we

strive to foster a community of passionate musicians and guitar

enthusiasts, where effortless inventiveness and burning

passion for music is at the forefront. We believe that

the guitar - as an instrument, a community, a

concept – has the power to bring people

together, and we are honored to play a

small role in that process by providing

the tool that empowers players to

express their talents to fellow man.

Tommy Colletti

Designer

The guitar has been the single greatest journey in my life besides family. Playing, performing, fixing, selling, and loving the guitar and the people who play them and make them. My love of the guitar has grown from an appreciation of playing as well as a love of the look and sound.

Since the beginning, I’ve designed guitars, sometimes drawn on napkins or conceived by searching for a sound, look, or feel not available in the marketplace.  Those designs and ideas were used by other guitar companies. Ideas that helped other people and other corporations succeed and gave birth to designs that are still used to this day.  I will continue to be a creative force in other guitar brands (as long as they’ll let me) and my love for those guitars will always exist.

I’m now taking what I've learned through decades of playing, research, trials, and tribulations to build the guitars created by Colletti Guitars. They are a product of my life journey and exploration of the guitar.

I come at this from a unique vantage point. I started my journey teaching the guitar, which grew to teach thousands of guitar students through the years, that instruction developed and I eventually opened a guitar retail store and lesson program, that grew over the years and now we provide guitars throughout the world.

I've played millions of guitars through this time and learned what makes a guitar great. It doesn't necessarily have anything to do with the name on the headstock or the price.

My guitars are built and designed from passion and know-how, not by the decisions of board members, venture capital, banks, or budgetary constraints.

My mission is to stay true to the guitar and what makes it great, the design, materials, and people who build them, and most importantly you, the people that give them life. Without you this means nothing. Join me on this expedition and give flight to a Colletti Guitar.  Thank you for sharing this journey with me.
